Cebu's Wedding Photography

I had coffee with a friend photographer a month ago and eventually opened up the topic on Cebu's Wedding Photography Industry. He thought that it's a cruel and demanding environment to deal with. First of all, you'll have to deal with these old timers who are considered as giants in this industry. You'll have to be very competitive to get a few of today's market. I mean, how can you compete against someone who has been doing it for at least fifteen years if you don't have the talent and the guts to do it. Second of all, you'll have to be aware of those pesky photographers out their who calls themselves artists slash photographers but could not take great pictures or at least know how to edit a photo in photoshop, who eventually would offer unbelievable rates to prospect clients just to get that account.

All I am saying is this, if this bigshot photographers would set a standard in rates, the industry wouldn't have to suffer. If they could only set some examples to others out there who just started in this business that lowering your price will not help, the industry wouldn't plunge it's way down. Public awareness should be the key, after all, we, photographers will benefit from it. We reap what we sow as they say.
